About This Spot

Step inside Park Cafe and you’re welcomed into a warm, unpretentious corner of Southsea where time seems to slow just a little. It’s that sort of neighborhood spot where the familiar hum of conversation blends softly with the clink of cutlery and the comforting aroma of fresh coffee. The pace here encourages you to linger—whether it’s for a quick breakfast before the day unfolds or a relaxed lunch shared with friends and family.

The café’s atmosphere feels genuinely lived-in, marked by the quiet kindness of its hosts and the gentle rhythm of regulars settling in. You can imagine mornings bathed in soft light filtering through the windows, the occasional laugh from the sunny garden out back, and the easy comfort of being somewhere that feels like a dependable refuge.

Food at Park Cafe speaks quietly but confidently of traditional, heartfelt cooking. You’ll find classics crafted with care and generous portions that honor the spirit of a truly satisfying breakfast or lunch. Whether it’s a simple jam on toast paired with a well-steeped tea or a plate piled high with all the familiar favorites—eggs, sausages, crispy chips—the offerings never feel rushed or overly fussy. Instead, they nourish both appetite and a little soul, exactly as a local café should.

More than just a place to eat, Park Cafe fosters moments of genuine connection: friendly smiles, small acts of kindness, and an overall sense that this is a space built on community as much as it is on food. For those who seek a true taste of Southsea’s everyday warmth, this is a quiet haven worth discovering.

The best value and quality in breakfast in town, and Wendy and Barry are just the best - bless them. So nice and kind to my 98 year old nan, as there are to every one x

I really fancied a good old fashioned cooked breakfast and a mug of tea, no beans in pots, no greenery chucked on the top! Ive found my Cafe, great food, great service and zero faff, luvvly jubbly

I wish there were still cafes like this one. I have been going here for years and it never disappoints. Great for a breakfast on a weekend, always perfectly cooked and they do sauteed potatoes which is massive bonus. There park special comes in at just under £10 and includes 2 bacon, 2 sausage, 2 eggs, tomatoes ,beans, fried bread, mushrooms , black pudding and potatoes. Unbelieveable. They will also cater to your needs if you wish, great Sunday roasts and various specials. The place is always clean and tidy and the staff are friendly and attentive. They even have a nice garden in the back you can sit in. Will always come back

Lovely local cafe for a good ol' breaky. The menu range is great. I had simple jam on toast and a good cuppa but they do everything up to a full English breakfast. They also have classic dessert options and lunch options including roast dinners! Very well priced, just what you need in your neighbourhood :)

Warm and friendly attitude of the stuff, lovely atmosphere. I cannot say anything bad about the staff! I have been going there with my friend every week for a year when I lived in Portsmouth and the staff started feeling like a family! They even remembered me when I came back there after two or so years. Very lovely and genuine people. I miss this place the most and will come back to Portsmouth again just to sit in the garden and replay the amazing memories.

Great English Breakfast with a mug of tea or coffee included in the price. It has a small garden at the back. Prices are very reasonable and service very friendly. Will be back fo sure.
